Our main initiatives:

Energy

The venue implements energy-saving measures by using only green electricity and reducing unnecessary energy consumption. Energy consumption is carefully limited through control of lighting, heating, and ventilation, heating and air conditioning (HVAC). In addition, the facility is equipped with LED lighting to further save energy.

Travel & Accommodation

Easyfairs reduces emissions from travel by selecting preferred accommodation partners based on sustainability criteria. The facility offers bike parking and electric car charging nearby. We encourage carpooling to the event and recommend the use of public transport to further reduce environmental impact.

Shipping & logistics

Easyfair’s stand packages reduce transport emissions and waste, and we select our suppliers based on sustainability criteria. We apply these criteria in our contracts and base our selection of suppliers on sustainability work in transport.

Production & waste

We implement a strict waste management and waste reduction plan and limit the use of plastic at our events. The waste generated is carefully sorted, and we use reusable mats during our events. In addition, our Smart Badge technology enables a significant reduction in paper consumption for our exhibitors.

Food & Food waste

We apply sustainable food sourcing principles at our dining locations, reduce food waste and donate leftover food to charity. We encourage our suppliers to use portion control to reduce waste, offer vegetarian and vegan options and do not serve red meat in our lunch restaurants.

Social responsibility

We strive to be an inclusive team that embraces diversity and provides equal opportunities for all, while embedding sustainability at the core of our event. Our event seminar programs focus on sustainability topics, and we provide a platform for startups to showcase their groundbreaking innovations.

Here are some practical tips on how to make your participation more sustainable.

Choose a reusable stand kit from the organizer or design your own stand so that the structure will be reused multiple times, year after year. Work with your stand builder to make your stand as durable as possible! Avoid creating a disposable stand just for one event. Create reusable signs (without any date on it) made from recyclable materials and with eco-friendly inks whenever possible. Use LED lighting and other energy-efficient equipment for your stand and don’t forget to turn it off at the end of the day. Try not to use carpet, and if you really need to, opt for reusable carpet tiles. If you use regular carpet, make sure it is recyclable and will be recycled.

When possible, choose public transportation or carpool with your colleagues. Choose a hotel within walking distance and/or adopt environmentally friendly methods.

Consolidate your shipments and preferably use transport and logistics companies that apply sustainable methods. Favor local suppliers to support the local economy and reduce transportation. Favor suppliers that demonstrate environmental and social credentials.

Bring your own reusable water bottle and use our water stations to help us reduce the use of single-use plastics. If you serve food at your booth, choose locally sourced and plant-based options and avoid single-use plastics. Avoid food waste and only order the amount of food you need.

Take an active role in the various initiatives and discussions during the event that will support sustainable development in your sector. Inspire visitors by showcasing the sustainable features of your products.
