When community becomes a superpower
We are now taking the next step to help more children and young people experience community, inclusion, and a sense of belonging. Comic Con Stockholm is launching a three-year partnership with Friends to jointly create more safe, inclusive, and positive environments.
Comic Con Stockholm – more than just a pop culture event
Comic Con Stockholm has always been more than just a pop culture event. It is a place where people connect through their passions—whether their hearts beat a little faster for cosplay, gaming, comics, movies, fantasy, sci-fi, or something else entirely. For many children and young people, Comic Con Stockholm becomes a place where an interest turns into a community, and where a sense of exclusion can be replaced by a sense of belonging. Here, many find—often for the first time—a space where they can be exactly who they are.
That is precisely why our partnership with Friends feels both important and natural.
Friends contributes its expertise in fostering safety and implementing preventive measures against bullying and exclusion. Together, we aim to use Comic Con Stockholm’s unique platform to highlight the importance of community, inclusion, and everyone’s right to be themselves.
Together for a kinder and stronger fandom
Through this partnership, Comic Con Stockholm and Friends aim to reach more people with knowledge on how we can work together to prevent bullying and create environments where children and young people feel welcome, accepted, and safe.
“When children and young people are part of communities where they feel welcome and accepted, their sense of security and optimism for the future grows. Comic Con Stockholm has a unique ability to bring people together around shared interests and foster a sense of belonging. Through our partnership, we want to reach even more people with knowledge on how we can prevent bullying together,” says Camilla Winberg, Head of Partnerships at Friends.
Comic Con Stockholm aims to remain a place that makes room for everyone—a place where creativity, curiosity, and a passion for people come together.
Because when people feel safe, they are more empowered to be themselves, express who they are, and experience a sense of community. And that is precisely the feeling we want to continue building together.
