Popular k-pop duo KENTA・SANGGYUN (formerly JBJ95) will be visiting us on Friday, May 3rd! They will have a live concert on our Heroes Main Stage at 19.30 and a Q&A during the day. You can also meet them for Meet & Greets during the day.

Both Kenta and Sanggyun have participated in the talent competition show Produce 101, based around the formation of a K-pop girl group or boy group. After the show, the band JBJ was formed, which then became JBJ95 consisting of Kenta and Sanggyun. Today, the duo goes by the name KENTA・SANGGYUN.

Kristian Nairn is best known for his role as Hodor in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones and also for playing Wee John Feeney in the series Our Flag Means Death.

In addition to acting, Kristian Nairn works as a DJ. For 10 years he was a DJ at Belfast’s gay club “Kreml” and in 2014 he toured Australia, with Rave of Thrones, with musical themes and costumes from the TV series Game of Thrones.

Akihiko Yamashita has had an extensive career as an animator. Having worked on major series such as Nadia, Escaflowne and Evangelion, he is known for his work on Studio Ghibli’s anime. These include Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea and Arrietty. More recently, he designed the character designs for the film Mary and the Witch’s Flower and worked on key animations for The Boy and The Heron.

Entrepreneur and training coach Mikael Hollsten and presenter and geek Peter Kjellin talk popular culture. Mikael is recognizable from, among other things, Biggest Loser, Gladiators, etc. and Peter has a past from [NÖRD:IGT], Bandit Rock and as a moderator at Comic Con Stockholm.

In the Valley of Darkness, a random adventure group has just been formed – here we find the bold but lovable warrior dwarf Fnöskberga, the charming hunter Joruna, the cunning halfling thief Brine, the shy and strong wolf warrior Keala and the mysterious elf magician Thein. By chance, the heroes meet in the dragon pass on the north side of the valley and together they enter the Valley of the Mists, where great adventure and nasty dangers await around every corner.

At Comic Con summer, the gang plays a specially written one-shot that takes place between the adventures in the “secret of the dragon emperor” campaign. Our heroes have just returned from the Battle of Knights Rös when they are visited by a familiar figure who pleads for their help…

Introduction to the Korean language with Stockholm University! Come and try learning Korean – it’s easier than you think! Take the opportunity to feel what it could be like to study languages at university.

Yokai are creatures from Japanese folklore. Make acquaintances with supernatural creatures such as Kappa, Tengu or Amabie. Choose your favorite and make your own postcard or bookmark with stamps based on original images in the collections of world culture museums.

So you want to start cosplaying? Maybe you’ve been inspired by all the cosplayers at cons, and now you want too? Then this is the workshop for you! Here you will go through: the basics of what cosplay is, making costumes, where to buy things like wigs, tips on how to make friends in the cosplay community, etc. All in all a good starting point if you want to try it out, or if you’re still in your early years of cosplaying!

The teacher, AnsoCosplay, has introduced a long list of students to cosplay in Danish “Youth Schools” for several years now.

Kendo is a modern sport that has its roots in the fighting art of the samurai. Here the participants use bamboo swords, called shinai. Kendo not only focuses on physical strength but also on mental focus and discipline. Don’t miss the chance to try kendo with Kibo Dojo.

Overthrew evil Kings, participate in Hunger Games, defeat Zombie hordes, hunt Dragon Eggs or survive Battle Stop – with over 50 different game types, none of the passes will be the same!

Psst Don’t forget to greet the dragon Aska, she doesn’t bite (mostly).

No preparation or prior knowledge is required, we have equipment and skilled game leaders on site!

May the Fourth be with you on Saturday, May 4 at Comic Con Stockholm Summer! We invite everyone in Star Wars cosplay to join us in a Star Wars parade on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The parade will start in the entrance hall and go through the hall and then finish at the Heroes Main Stage.

At the Heroes Main Stage we will witness our Special Guest Natalia Tena (who starred in The Mandalorian) become an honorary member of the 501st Legion. Becoming an honorary member is a way for them to show appreciation for actors, artists and others who contributed to the Star Wars universe. Everyone, regardless of whether you joined the parade or not, is welcome to take part in this fantastic activity at about 3.45pm on the Heroes Main Stage.

Tena first caught the public’s attention with her portrayal of Nymphadora Tonks in the “Harry Potter” film series. Here you can show off your cosplay outfit on stage outside of the competition, or just sit back and enjoy all the amazing creations. Since this is not a competition, it is great to have self-created characters, purchased cosplays and own versions of existing characters. It is also fine to go together in a group or to go up on stage individually

How do I register?
We gather 60 minutes before the show at the stage (Heroes Main Stage). There you will get a briefing on how the show will go, tell us about which character and from which work you are cosplaying, and then you will get your number in the order of turn.

Martin Coccolo developed an early interest in art, especially comics. After years of being an art assistant, he decided to pursue his own career in the comics industry. Starting with small, virtually unknown independent publishers, he managed to carve out a path that would eventually lead him to work for APE Entertainment’s “Helldorado,” a work that earned him a Russ Manning Award nomination for Most Promising Newcomer. He would then go on to work on IDW’s Magic: The Gathering for many issues before being recruited by DC Entertainment to work on Green Lantern and Sinestro alternately.

In the panel discussion, you will get an insight into Swedish association life, where nerdy interests unite children and young people all over Sweden. Discover why these associations were formed, what they contribute to their members, and how together they create unforgettable experiences. Perfect for those who are considering joining an association or just want to deepen your understanding of Swedish gaming culture.

The panel will explore the exciting and sometimes terrifying worlds of fantasy, horror and science fiction through the eyes of three prominent Swedish filmmakers: Filip Hammarström, Richard Jarnhed and Jimmy Nivrén Olsson. This 60-minute panel will be a conversation focusing on their experiences and visions within the genres.

  • Filip Hammarström – Film producer and screenwriter who has experimented with both horror and sci-fi genres. His works include “Karusell”, “Feed”, “Dream”, and “Jordskott”.
  • Richard Jarnhed – Director and screenwriter who has worked in both the horror and action genres. His works include “Dystopia”, “Black Sea Season 2” and “Arne Dahl”.
  • Jimmy Nivrén Olsson – Screenwriter who has explored both horror and sci-fi genres. He is the writer behind Crazy Pictures’ “UFO: Sweden” and most recently the horror film “Ur Mörkret”.

Do you want to be directed by a professional director and play against an established actor, or just come and listen to an entertaining and inspiring conversation about acting in film. Director Richard Jarnhed (Black Sea 2, Dystopia) and actor Erik Bolin (from Beck to Dystopia via Moscow) hold this workshop.

Meet and listen to museum pedagogue Jon Johansson and Cezar Borgkrans from the world culture museums and dive deep into the subject of Yokai. Humans have always sought explanations for strange phenomena, strange dreams or the feeling of an invisible presence. In Japanese folklore, they talk about Yokai. Yokai are Japanese beings – loved, feared and part of popular culture for hundreds of years. Jon Johansson is working on an upcoming exhibition about yokai at the Ethnographic Museum in Stockholm and recently returned from Japan where he visited places connected to yokai.

Marketing for Creators is a workshop made especially for people who use social media to promote their creations. As a creator, Mariia took the best practices and years of experience and put it all into one course. You will learn:

What is the relevant audience and why is it better than big numbers
What is the difference between classic marketing and marketing for creators
Small hacks to increase your growth via social media

Kenjutsu focuses on the use of the samurai sword, also known as the katana. During the weekend, you can get a first taste of kenjutsu with Kenjutsu Sweden, which trains the Yagyū Shinkage Ryū style, and conducts demonstrations and open try-outs with katana, jo staff and wakizashi short swords.

LudoSport is an international organization of academies that teach and practice lightsaber fencing. Ludosport is an exercise and competitive sport where you fight with a lightsaber and is a fully developed sport with its own rules and systematized techniques. In Ludosport, lightsabers are used to duel each other. You score points by hitting your opponent anywhere on the body.

Heroes Comic Con Stockholm Summer + Made in Asia are proud to present the brand new Swedish qualifier for the International Cosplay League! The competition has been held in Spain since 2017 and has steadily grown with more participating countries. In 2023, 33 participants took part and now Sweden is finally participating!

The competition consists of two different formats and qualifiers:
ICL Solo: Solo competition in craftsmanship.
ICL Duo: Couple competition in craftsmanship and performance.

Important Looking Pirates is a world class visual effects and digital animation studio based in Stockholm. They were founded in 2007 and have since grown into an award winning studio, creating animation and visual effects for some of the greatest storytellers and franchises.

Listen to ILP Co-founder Niklas Jacobson speaking about their journey in how they became one of the most sought after Visual Effects providers for titles such as: The Last Airbender, Star Wars, Jurassic World, Stranger Things, Fallout, Indiana Jones, Shogun and many more.

We will show step by step how to build your own replica of R2-D2. A breakdown of the different materials and methods that can be used is reviewed and compared to how production robots are built.

Furoshiki(風呂敷)is a Japanese fabric that is used as a cloth, but also for bags, backpacks and instead of wrapping paper. This multi-tool has a history that spans over 1300 years! Instructor Mio Nakamura will talk about Furoshiki and its history. Then learn about different Furoshiki techniques and try your hand at wrapping. Mio was born and raised in Japan, but now lives in Gothenburg where she runs Origami Japonica. She has worked with origami and Japanese package wrapping for 20 years and is an experienced instructor who works with both children and adults.

Are you excited to draw characters and learn different tricks to design a protagonist or an antagonist? Students from Kulturama Gymnasium like to show what they have learned. Welcome to our character design workshop!

Under the guidance of Helsinglight’s FX artist Petra Shara Stoor and her imaginative team, the witch Baba Yaga and the tree Grim, we offer you the opportunity to try your hand at sculpting imaginative characters in clay. It doesn’t matter if you are just starting your creative journey or already have experience, there is room here for all levels to join. By participating, you get a small insight into Helsinglight’s world of learning, creativity and togetherness, which may inspire continued development and participation in future courses at Helsinglight.
The number of places at the workshop is limited (50 places in total) and places are first come, first served!

When you lie in bed in the middle of the night and look out into the dark, what do you imagine is hiding in the shadows…? Now is the time to release your worst nightmares on paper! In this workshop, we will go through different steps for how to design a believable monster, from basic idea to finished beast! We will sign together, materials are available. You are most welcome to bring your own materials such as paper, pens or digital media. No previous drawing experience is needed, however, a good imagination is a big plus!

Deus Jet is a dark fantasy and horror illustrator from Stockholm. He mainly deals with creating dark stories in comic format as well as gruesome illustrations of monsters. Instagram: @Deusjet
